Recommended not only to t My interest in Japanese culture was just blossoming when I came across this powerhouse of a book, which I have re-read since at least three times. And I had to wonder, who would I be in Changi ? King Rat has the least culture clash of Clavell’s series, as most of the interactions are between the Westerners themselves and the major emotional crux is the captivity.
