Please try again later. As soon as the villain was mentioned though, in light of the rest of the story, the motivation was obvious, as was another point which Maggie and the rest of the investigators totally missed.
I can’t wait for the next one!!! This is a delightful series I became hooked on about a year ago. They posture a lot. Never a good idea to start a series with book 7, although with Mystery it generally doesn’t matter. I hope someone else gets saved from reading this bs. It is always good when the victim is a creep, then you don’t feel bad that they are dead.

I really loved the first few books in this series, and I think they quickly went from paranormal murder homme to relationship dramas with a tiny amount of mystery and an even tinier amount of paranormal.

Goodreads is the world’s largest site for readers with over 50 million reviews. This story felt plodding until around the last third or so when it finally got interesting. There’s also much less paranormal activity than in the earlier books. Still, the book was worth the read if you’re a fan of the series.
In that respect, this book fills an obvious niche — it solidifies the relationship between Maggie and Marcus, it strengthens the bond between Maggie and her mother, and it relegates Mel to a background scene, a supporting role and not even an important one. Of course Felicity continues to be the most witchy witch in this series. There can be discomfort with topics that sound ‘unchristian’; even if maeelyn have no monopoly on healing herbs and meditation.
I didn’t feel satisfied when the killer was revealed, though the twist that came at the end was a bit surprising. Sep 11, Jacqulyn rated it it was amazing. I felt like the mystery element was a little lacking though, because the body takes a long time to appear, and the actual mystery was one of the weakest I’ve read in any cozy.

It isn’t that this book can’t stand alone, but I wanted to know more of the back story between Maggie and her ex-boyfriend. Couldn’t finish this crap-tastic book for the life of me. Explore the Home Gift Guide. All Madelyn Alt’s witchcraft books are light reading, but I enjoyed this one much more than the one before it and I’m glad I gave it a try.
There was almost nothing of a supernatural flavor in this one, but it was a good summer read. There was less paranormal edge, but the characters fof still fun.
